School of Nuclear Medicine Technology

The Northwestern Memorial School of Nuclear Medicine Technology provides students with a comprehensive body of knowledge and skills and the opportunity for some of the finest clinical experiences. Each year approximately 20,000 imaging procedures and over 5,000 cardiac stress imaging procedures are performed by the sections of nuclear medicine and nuclear cardiology.

The 12-month program begins at the beginning of September. To ensure individual instruction, Northwestern Memorial reserves the right to limit class size to 12 students annually.

The Nuclear Medicine Technology program is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Educational Programs in Nuclear Medicine Technology, (406) 883-0003.

With Northwestern Memorial's state-of-the-art facility, students are taught with the most advanced technological and diagnostic equipment available, including:

  • 1 Siemens Biograph True Point PET/CT
  • 1 Siemens PET Ecat Exact Camera
  • 8 Siemens Dual-Head Ecam Cameras
  • 1 Siemens Single-Head Ecam Camera
  • 2 Hologic Densitometers

Our experienced instructional staff includes:

  • 3 Board-certified physicians
  • 18 technologists
  • Radiochemist and hospital radiation officer
  • Physicists
  • Advanced Practice Nurses
  • Administrative and support staff
